A person may not apply for asylum from their home country as asylum applications are only processed here in the United States.
A work permit is obtained by filing form I-765 with USCIS only if you have a currently pending application that permits work authorization. Unfortunately, there is no ability to apply for a stand-alone work permit. All work permits are issued as a result of a previously filed and pending application with USCIS. Please call us and we can explain the nuances of obtaining a work permit particular to your situation.
